There is a story in the book of Luke about a woman who was sick and had spent all her money trying to get well. While Jesus was passing by she worked her way through the massive crowd in a last ditch attempt to find the healing she had been looking for. With a desperate last push she reached out for Jesus and just barely grasped the end of what he was wearing. She was instantly healed and Jesus told her that it was her faith that he could do the impossible that had healed her. I want that kind of faith! I want to constantly be reaching out for the life and healing that Jesus is offering. This song follows that progression. People who are desperate for the life of Jesus to heal them followed by a declaration of how that mercy has found them through the Word of God made flesh. Jesus himself said in John 4 that in him we will find living water, and in Revelation we read that there is a river flowing from the throne of God that waters the tree of life whose leaves are for the healing of the nations. If you need healing Jesus is the place to find it.
